We use Lucid Visual Collaboration Suite for flowcharts most of which are at a easy and medium level of complexity. The flow charts consists predominantly of Information Technology charts - data flow and infrastructure diagrams, network topologies, etc. We also use it to maintain our organizational chart.
  • Data Flow Diagrams
  • Infrastructure Diagrams
  • Network Topologies
  • We haven't encountered any limitations as we have been able to complete all tasks started in Lucid Visual Collaboration Suite
  • Limitations encountered in the past (i.e., issues exporting some diagrams to PDF) have been resolved
Data Flow Diagrams and other charts of easy/medium complexity are easily created and look good.

Complex organizational charts that require frequent updating may be less appropriate since I believe it will be a manual endeavor. However, it meets our needs since we have a relatively flat organization that doesn't change frequently.

Note that there may be functionality that accomplishes this that we haven't utilized.

The Lucid Visual Collaboration Suite allows us to easily create detailed visuals that help express the requirements for projects. We use it mostly for creating flow charts and other process visuals that demonstrate the steps. Lucid Visual Collaboration Suite allows us to easily create these and send them for internal review and access to the clients.
  • Flow chart creation
  • Easily collaborating across teams
  • More templates for varied use cases
I have been very pleased with Lucid Visual Collaboration Suite. It allows us to easily get aligned across teams and effectively communicate and work together on the same project. It helps us to stay aligned in real-time and collaborate effectively. I have used Lucid products for over 5 years and have always been pleased.

Process mapping mainly. I use the Lucid Visual Collaboration Suite to create process diagrams, use case diagrams, and other visual aids to explain how processes work at my organization.
  • Process mapping
  • Use case diagrams
  • Other visual aids, e.g. showing data flow
  • I would like a button to align all the boxes (vertical/horizontal alignment does NOT work)
  • Make suggestions so that lines do not have to cross (I avoid crossing lines wherever possible, it looks cleaner)
  • Auto-create a key/legend containing all elements in the diagram in a tidy little box at the bottom
Lucid Visual Collaboration Suite is easily the best for process mapping. I have tried Visio, Miro, and others, but Lucid Visual Collaboration Suite is hands down the best for this. I know there is a collaboration area like Miro, but my whole organization uses Miro so I have not tried it yet, this is on my to-do list.

It is used by the Process Improvement team and the Project management team to build different types of charts, including process charts, to increase the comprehension of complex procedures, and in the improvement of current processes.
  • Building charts from scratch
  • The choice of templates
  • The ease of transfer from Lucidchart to a number of types of files (PDF, PENG, etc.)
  • The format of the text is not very user-friendly
  • The colors available for the boxes (format)
  • Being able to open a chart and work on it directly from Teams (which I cannot do now)
It took time to get used to Lucidchart. I used it for process mapping.

I built solutions designing and architecting to build artefacts and share it with customers or internal interests. We do implementations to customers to track how the tool is being used in their tech stack or how the data is flowing we build flow diagrams or architecture diagrams to have it documented
  • Solutioning the custom solutions where we want to get clear understanding of how the tech stacks are being used
  • Process flow diagrams
  • Structure based designs and architecture
  • Branded logos like AWS S3, SFTP etc.
  • The AI generation is too basic. May be needs training with detailed data
  • The chart when shared is sharing all the tabs. Can we limit to 1 tab
If you want to build a robust architecture diagram solo or with a team in collaboration this is hands down the best tool. But for high level flow diagrams I think other diagramming tools are easy to launch and work with. We can still use Lucid Visual Collaboration Suite for them but not exclusively this

We use Lucid Visual Collaboration Suite for many things within our organization, one of the most important uses being for making road-maps, wireframes, or even parent blocks for our website that is always going through changes. Helps to give a visual view for what we will eventually create, what our audience will be seeing, and more importantly lets us test if it works well or not. Also is vey helpful to share with co-workers.
  • Road maps, visual or not
  • Wireframes, for figuring out layouts to various things
  • Helping to keep ideas on one single page for viewing
  • There has been an issue with images in which it won't show properly
  • Custom layouts
Very helpful for various tasks needed within a professional workplace. Can definitely see this being helpful for teachers with lesson plans, designers with any layouts they need to figure out, management with any charts they need to create, and a whole lot more too. We currently use it in a non-profit organization setting for various tasks, some being wireframes, visual examples, types of graphs and many more things too.

Lucidspark is currently being used in one department at this time. It addresses the problem of brainstorming in real-time within a remote setting. It also eliminates having to take the extra step to digitize what would have been on post-it notes. The data is saved from the exercise and can be applied to drive results straight away.
  • User friendly.
  • Tutorials.
  • Wide variety of tools.
  • Case studies.
  • Certification programs.
  • More demos on usage.
It is great for brainstorming but less appropriate for process mapping.

At my company we use Lucid Visual Collaboration Suite to visualize common user flows so that we can create our product around those flows. We also will use Lucid as a general note taking platform that we can organize ideas for later projects. Lucid Visual Collaboration Suite helps us take complex problems and make them easier to share with others.
  • User flows
  • Charting
  • Note Taking
  • Setting up Jira seems confusing
  • Dynamic Table is confusing I go back to the old one
  • More tutorials would be helpful
The best time for me to use Lucid Visual Collaboration Suite as a UX/UI Designer is when I am working with my product manager to go over ideas for our next project. Here we can track goals of the project, create flows, sketch our screens. It is great to use when setting up the next project.

I love Lucid Visual Collaboration Suite. I use it for flowcharts, orgcharts, electrical schematics, and one-line drawings.
  • Integration with confluence, notion, slack
  • Simplicity of use
  • Covers most use-cases out of the box
  • Search feature could be better
  • More icons
  • Give option to do something like instant alpha
  • Give option to make an image transparent
It's great for documenting mind maps, org charts, block diagrams. I particularly love it to document one line drawings. I think it's less suited for mechanical CAD where you need more capability. It is less suited for drawings that are dense and where you need multiple arrows out of one block - Lucid Visual Collaboration Suitedoesn't seem to handle that well.

We often use Lucid for different sales leads, requirements, and process flows. Collaboration with other employees helps to streamline the process of building out different charts.
  • Ease of use for building out swim lanes
  • Ability to add in imagery for flows
  • Detailed templates provided
  • Slow load times
  • Improved connector
Lucid can be used for many different process flows, swim lane builds, and diagrams. The tool does everything necessary for what it's built and intended to do.

Lucid Visual Collaboration Suite Lucidchart has been a game-changer for our fully remote team. Since we're all spread out, Lucid Visual Collaboration Suite Lucidchart has become our go-to for our virtual workspace, providing solid support and making collaboration a breeze. Working remotely, Lucid Visual Collaboration Suite Lucidchart has allowed us to brainstorm ideas, plan projects, and have discussions. Its real-time collaboration features have been super helpful, making sure everyone is on the same page, no matter where they are. Plus, Lucid Visual Collaboration Suite Lucidchart's visuals make complicated stuff easier to understand.
  • Database import
  • Charting simplified
  • As complex as needed
  • To be honest, is hard to say ibe are of improvement. Maybe website load times could be improved?
It has been our go-to tool for everything related to databases. There's no other tool we use for this matter.

The less appropriate scenario would be the Org Chart of our company, where another tool is used.

I use Lucid Chart/Spark for website mapping with my clients. I enjoy being able to collaborate with them so easily and having a visual website map that is easy to edit is key when working with many different website clients with differing technical abilities. The user friendliness is invaluable, and there are not too many alternatives out there.
  • website mapping
  • brainstorming
  • organizational charts
  • Advanced/AI features
  • interactivity
  • additional templates
Highly recommend this for website mapping and/or process mapping. Collaboration tools are great for these use cases and Lucid has a well thought out interface that makes it easy to use with other companies.

We use lucid chart to create visual work flows of how our sales process should work across every part of the team. We often sit down and re-think existing processes and the impact changes can have. Seeing is much easier then just writing down and sometimes you don't always have a white board! Also great to share over zoom w/ remote folks
  • Easy to use
  • Versitle
  • I think it isn't that expensive
  • Better sharing w/ team members
  • Easier to save as PDFs
  • Page layout creation
One of our C Suite team members had no clue what my job was. Rather then talking at them for an hour, I just created a simple flow chart that showed how me/my team fit in to the bigger picture of the sales org. That chart then has been expanded out into a use case to help educate lots of people on what the team does!

Some ideas are better explained through flowcharts, and in our case, we regularly create and revise processes detrimental to the overall operations of our business. Gone are the days when these are being discussed and shown to stakeholders through lengthy word documents and with Lucidchart it cut our discussion times in half.
  • Flowcharts
  • Collaboration
  • User-friendly UI / UX
  • Flowcharts pasted to powerpoints and Google Slides can be improved further - a bit low quality imo (either distorted etc)
  • Looking to have a smart AI functionality where it can guide user on potential breaks on process flows and suggest alternatives.
We have deployed chatbots across our markets and within these markets we have speficic POCs. With the collaborative features of Lucid Chart, teams can go together on 1 platform and instantaneously mind-map flows for chatbots.

Another example is through Lucidchart our T&Q was able to effectively conduct process trainings. Agents are able to effectively appreciate learning through visuals and not through lengthy documents.

Lucid Visual Collaboration Suite provides a comprehensive tool for us to tackle all of our internal and external interactions with a visual display that helps to chart toward a common goal. Internal discussions, with the use of Lucid, provides a collaborative dimension toward the discussion that a powerpoint or pen & paper just don't do any justice toward. Working with our external constituents in Lucid, provides a visual display that goes beyond corporate meetings, and maps the intention of a solution for their business use case(s) we are working collaboratively to solve for. It is really a game changer in the industry and type of work we provide.
  • Collaboration
  • Visual Display
  • Diagramming
  • Continuing to be innovative
  • Continuing to hear from the customers
  • Continuing to provide resources to learn more about the tool
It is hard to think of ways in which Lucid Visual Collaboration Suite would not be best suited to provide an effective tool for any organization to find success in its use. Whether it is a visual display to map an organizational structure, a collaboration to find an answer of how to improve workflow, or even to display the upcoming budget needs, working in Lucid can seamlessly provide that!

We use Lucid Visual Collaboration Suite for modeling complex ideas and looking at the impacts of changes made on another software that we are building for clients. We use this for two parts, onboarding new people onto projects and providing training for clients after the project to show the dataflow within their models.
  • Collaborating with the team
  • Ease of use, the team is able to make changes and get up to speed quickly
  • Document security and sharing are both very smooth
  • Nothing specific, Lucid Visual Collaboration Suite does everything well for our purposes.
Lucid Visual Collaboration Suite has been very smooth for explaining how our other processes work and breaking down the logical flow of complex ideas when we work with our clients. Other programs can work smooth as well but Lucid Visual Collaboration Suite seems to be the best blend of usability and collaboration to help us in our day to day.

Lucidchart is an online diagramming software. It helps us present workflows and diagrams to stakeholders within our company. It is super easy to use, has collaborative features for remote or global teams, and offers plenty of templates for us to choose from to make it easy to dive right in.
  • Intuitive user interface
  • Adequate shapes and templates
  • Integrates well with other apps and services
  • Real-Time Collaboration
  • Pricing - No options for a one-time purchase like Microsoft's Visio
We've used Lucidchart in a variety of ways over the years. We've used it for a simple mind map for brainstorming sessions, various organizational charts and primarily use it for new workflow scenarios for our software. It is an exceptional diagramming software that is effective at helping us showcase our ideas. It helps others visualize what we are thinking or discussing and the templates give us a jump ahead so we can get our diagrams moving right away.

Lucidchart is an indispensable tool in our organization, and I primarily use it to prepare workflow and organizational charts. This powerful software has greatly streamlined our business processes and addressed several key challenges.First and foremost, Lucidchart has proven invaluable in creating clear and visually appealing workflow diagrams. It allows me to map out complex processes step-by-step, facilitating better communication within our team. This has significantly enhanced our project management capabilities, reducing errors and improving efficiency.Additionally, Lucidchart has revolutionized the way we handle organizational charts. Creating and updating our org structure has never been easier. The intuitive drag-and-drop interface, along with its extensive template library, makes it a breeze to design and maintain our org charts, which is crucial for keeping everyone in the company informed about our hierarchy and reporting structure. In conclusion, Lucidchart is an indispensable tool that has simplified our workflow and org chart creation processes. It has addressed critical business problems related to communication, project management, and organizational transparency, making it an essential asset for our organization's success.
  • Workflow Diagrams
  • Org Charts
  • Data Visualization
  • Collaboration
  • Mobile Experience
  • Offline Access
  • Better Integration with Third-Party Tools
Lucidchart is exceptionally well-suited for a variety of scenarios:1) Workflow Mapping: Lucidchart excels in creating visual representations of complex workflows. Whether you're designing a business process, software development cycle, or project management flow, Lucidchart provides an intuitive platform to map out intricate steps and decision points.2) Organizational Chart Creation: Lucidchart is an ideal choice for building and maintaining organizational charts. It simplifies the process of defining reporting structures and hierarchies, ensuring that teams remain informed about the organization's composition. However, there are scenarios where Lucidchart may be less appropriate:1) Heavy Data Visualization: If you require highly specialized data visualization with intricate charts and graphs, a dedicated data visualization tool like Tableau or Power BI might be more suitable. 2) Offline Work: Lucidchart primarily operates in the cloud. If you often need to work offline without access to the internet, other diagramming software with robust offline capabilities might be a better choice.

We have been using LucidChart at INTERTEL for the last 4 years, and it is a really excellent chart and diagram solution. We are using it to map out all our processes across the whole company, from sales and marketing to operations and support. Even our programming department uses it for their internal processes, and they have been using SCRUM internally. Having all our processes mapped out really help us to understand if there are any roadblocks in our organization, and the correct flow of information from one department to the other. But the main use we have for it is that it allows us to assign responsibilities for each part of the process to the correct person/department, and in our industry having this information is key. Also, it is a plus that the cost of the license is not that expensive compared to other similar solutions, and even the free version has enough features and options to help out everyone. We recommend LucidChart to everyone that asks us about it.

  • Mapping out processes and workflows
  • Allowing the whole enterprise to see how each process interacts with the other departments
  • Pointing out areas of opportunity between each process
  • Eliminating unneeded steps in each process
  • Helping the new hires to understand the process and areas that they are going to help with
  • Printing each chart out and having them in every department helps when trying to change or update a process
  • The free version offers a lot of functionality but you cannot print the complete chart
  • Translate between languages, our company is in Mexico but we have a lot of people coming from the USA
  • Add the option to import or make our own shapes and chart types
We think that LucidChart works best for companies that have a lot of interconnected processes, this way you can see and understand the relationship between each and every process, also it is always easier to understand a process by seeing a representation of it, and LucidChart allows you to do that very easily and cheaply
It is not so well suited for companies that only have one process that they follow all day long, or that they cannot change or update because of company policies of requirements. Also, if your industry is regulated by the government, it does not make sense to have all your processes in LucidChart, since you are probably getting a lot of them from the government and cannot make any updates to them, or change them in any way shape or form.

I work in a group responsible for CI/CD of the organization. We often have to write Technical Design documents in preparation for new features. I use Lucidchart to draw design diagrams and flow charts and embed them in my design documents.
I also used it to chart a big portion of our CI/CD ecosystem, which contains tens of services communicating with each other by RPC and message queues. This mapping was a life saver to make sense of current and legacy flows, and I come back to tis diagram often to understand or remember how services talk to each other.
  • Creation of diagrams and charts is easy, intuitive and rich with editing and customization options
  • Collaboration with team members is a breeze and is a powerful ability
  • Integration with google docs works well and saves the need of exporting and importing manually on every change
  • There is no native application, only SaaS
Lucidchart is best when the entire team is onboarded and can collaborate in a familiar, efficient, and agile way.
There is a history of modifications by users, and the ability to comment on components of the chart, similar to Google Docs.
Also, having all diagrams "in the cloud" is very convenient and enhances the collaborative easiness of the tool.

But even when the rest of the team does not use it, Lucidchart is still a good solution for individual productiveness, which is how I started out my work with it.

I am redesigning systems for a rapidly growing city. As such, I am using LucidChart for developing system flow charts, showing the changes in process management and delineating organization charts. It is flexible and available whether I am at home or the office. It is reasonably priced and has many templates to help the new user get started. I have just now started to unpack the power of LucidChart but I expect to be a customer for a very long time. Right now, I am the only user but over time, I will roll it out to my entire leadership team.
  • Easily design connectivity to shapes
  • Simple User Interface
  • Wide variety of templates
  • Reasonable price point
  • Add More timeline flexibility
It worked great for flowcharting and it has the functionality I need for timeline creation but I could not get it down to days or weeks. It defaulted to quarters and I couldn't figure out how to change it. I think it will work great for org charts as well. I am going to use the layer function to show the overall organization chart and then have each department with a link to a different layer
